Shivaratna Productions’ maiden Hindi feature film, Indrajaal, has become a huge talking point on the internet ever since its promotions began. The intriguing first look and motion poster piqued curiosity, while the teaser took the excitement to another level. Following tremendous public demand, the makers finally unveiled the much-awaited trailer, which has already set the internet abuzz. If the teaser was grand, the trailer takes the scale and excitement several notches higher. More importantly, it offers a clearer sense of the film’s intriguing premise without revealing too much about the plot, thereby keeping the mystery and curiosity intact.
The three-minute-seven-second trailer was unveiled on Friday, July 10. While the teaser relied largely on a background voiceover with fascinating visuals dominating the screen, the trailer features several dialogues and offers a clearer insight into the characters and their distinct traits. It establishes that the film blends deception, mystery, mythology and a wild adventure, while also offering an intriguing glimpse into the secrets of Nilvanti from Indian folklore. The teaser had already indicated that the film’s special effects are at par with global standards and that it boasts striking visuals and an ambitious scale. The trailer further reinforces these aspects.
Indrajaal stars Mahesh Nikam in the lead, along with Shanaya Tripathi, Yashraj Dimbale, Kiran Mane, Kalpana Sarang, Darshana Rasal, Dheeraj Sharma, Satyam Chhetri, Rahul Kulkarni, Sanjana Deshmukh, Kalpesh Jagtap, Yogesh Dangat and Hemant Pawar, Shubham Chavhan, Jeevan Vagh, Rahul Nikam and Ajim Patel in pivotal roles. Indrajaal marks the debut production venture of Mrs Sucheta Ajay Nikam’s Shivaratna Productions. Ajay Nikam and Mangesh Vaity serve as co-producers.
The film is directed and edited by Jageshhwar Lalita Dhoble, who has previously helmed three acclaimed Marathi feature films – Dha Lekach, Reshtip and kulswamini. Known for telling rooted, emotional and socially relevant stories, the filmmaker now ventures into the Hindi space with a film that promises mystery, drama and a larger-than-life narrative.
On the occasion of the trailer release and success, Mahesh Nikam said, “My phone and social media DMs are flooded with messages appreciating the world of Indrajaal. At the same time, many demanded to see the trailer immediately. It was overwhelming to see an independent film managing to create such hype. Finally, the trailer is out and as expected, the response is phenomenal. But the demands just don’t end. Now, fans of the film are demanding to see the film ASAP! And of course, I am not complaining and enjoy the moment.”
Director Jageshhwar Lalita Dhoble stated, “It took a lot of time and effort to cut the trailer. We wanted to keep the mystery alive while also generating excitement among audiences. There was additional pressure since the teaser had already set a benchmark. Thankfully, the response has been unanimous, with viewers stating that the trailer is even better than the teaser and that they can’t wait to watch the film.”
A big victory for the team is that Indrajaal is trending in the second position on IMDb’s list of most anticipated new Indian movies and shows. Producer Sucheta Ajay Nikam exulted, “That our film is at no. 2 on IMDb’s prestigious list is a pleasant surprise and like an icing on the cake. It was a risk to take up a subject like Indrajaal for my debut venture. However, I had full faith in the film’s team. I gave them a free hand and told them not to cut corners. I am so happy to see the final product and the reactions to the film’s assets. I am already at ease, as I know that the film will surely open to an encouraging response in cinemas!”
Indrajaal has been written by State award-winning writer, Namdeo Murkute, who has earned acclaim for his work in Bandookya, Ankush and Apsara. The film’s cinematography is by the acclaimed Aakash Sethi, with 8 years of experience and who has shot fiction, documentaries and international projects across diverse formats and cultures. The music has been composed by Gaurav Chati, the lyrics are by Yogesh Dangat, the background score by Ooday Salvi, costumes by Janhavi Shinde and production design by Sachin Patil. The film has been creatively produced by Haresh Pemparam Sutar and Vikramsen Chavan and executive produced by Ashok Kendre. The VFX is by Steamy Circle Studio, while post-production has been handled by After Play Studio.

Released by August Entertainment, Indrajaal is set to arrive in cinemas on July 24.
