Jason Roy, the opening batsman for the Kolkata Knight Riders, was fined 10% of his match money on Wednesday for violating the IPL Code of Conduct.
The English opener, who scored a 29-ball 56 to help KKR defeat Royal Challengers Bangalore and reach 200/5, has acknowledged the error.
“Roy admitted to the Level 1 offence under Article 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct,” IPL Media said.
The event took place at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium during KKR's 21-run victory against RCB.
The Match Referee's judgement is final and binding for Level 1 infractions of the Code of Conduct, it was stated.
