On Thursday, to commemorate the completion of the 100-day countdown to the start of the 19th Asian Games, the torch for the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games was lighted in the historic city of Liangzhu.
The sun’s beams were used to ignite the flame inside of a concave mirror. A flame collector then passed the torch to Yi Lianhong, secretary of the Communist Party of China’s Zhejiang Provincial Committee, who lit the cauldron. A digital torch relay began online at the same moment, according to Xinhua.
